Food Pantry

DRC Food Pantry

At Del Rey Church we take it very seriously that we are to be a generous people toward others. Though poverty is not a major problem in our city, we are not exempt from reaching out to those outside of our city with practical and loving help.

Added to this, there are many who suffer in silence within our city. There are people in our church and community who regularly need help with groceries. When someone comes to our church hungry, we like to be able to feed them. Thus, we started a small food pantry to be able to care for those in need – within our community and beyond.

Sharing food is a very practical way to show someone the love of God. Jesus Himself fed people who were hungry. He miraculously fed thousands and used it as an opportunity to share about how He was (and is) the true bread of life.

The food pantry is stocked by the generosity of our church and community. We have a wooden barrel in the lobby area of the sanctuary for collecting foods. We are always in need of donations. We encourage anyone to bring food to donate to the pantry. This can be done any Sunday or simply come by the church offices during the week to drop off food (see below for details).

At times our stock of food becomes a bit unbalanced, that is, we have a large stock of some items while we may be out of other items. Please check this page often!
